What kind of bike should I bring?

We accept any type of bike including e-bikes, tandems, and recumbents. Rail trail tours have packed gravel so you will need a bike with a wider tire. Hybrid and e-bike rentals are available.

Do you offer bikes for rent?

Yes! We own a small fleet of e-bikes and hybrids. Contact Sharon at 540-613-3170 to reserve.

Will food and snacks be provided during the rides?

Yes. SAG stops are stocked with items like PB&J, seasonal fresh fruit, fig newtons, chips, cookies, and protein bars. We sometimes stop at local restaurants depending on the route.

Is SAG support available during rides?

Yes. In most cases we have both vehicular support and staff members riding alongside you. The SAG vehicle carries a mobile electric refrigerator and e-bike charging stations.

What is the cancellation policy?

What happens if there is bad weather?

Unless there is lightning, tours carry on. Ponchos and helmet covers are available. See the cancellation policy for more details.

What if I cannot keep up with the group?

These are tours, not races. We ride at a leisurely pace and regroup at intersections so no one gets left behind.

When will I receive my itinerary?

Itineraries are shared via Google Doc approximately one week before the tour, to account for last-minute route changes due to road closures or other conditions.
